Gypsy
Gypsy,
AKA "The Alaskan Husky" Gyspy is a spayed female Alaskan that came from Washoe County (Reno, NV) Animal Control. The story was that she had been purchased from a sleddog kennel in MI by a musher in Truckee, CA. Gypsy apparently did not work out for that musher, and the kennel in MI was unwilling to take her back so the musher left her at Animal Control. He said she was a "fear biter" and anti-social and wouldn't work for his tour business. Because he said she would bite, they could not put her in adoptions. Her choices were to be euthanized or go to a recue agency, so they called me. Within five minutes I could tell she was a terrified, skinny, possibly sick and probably physically abused animal. She had so many fears it was unbelievable! And she had this bloated stomach that turned out to be a bunch of bedding she had consumed somewhere along the line that came out three days after she had been at my place. Gypsy has turned into a very sweet dog who is learning to trust humans again. I have decided that her chances for success in another home are very small, so I am keeping her and have hopes that when I hook her up in the Fall she will be able to join my team this winter. I look forward to watching her bloom and turn into the wonderful dog that I know she is. Gypsy, welcome to Arcticgrace!! |
