Tucker

Tucker, AKA "Siberian in Labrador Clothing"
D.O.B: 2003?

Tucker is a black lab mix who my ex-boyfriend picked up at the Reno pound (because he needed HIS OWN dog). Tucker was a total street dog and showed Milton quickly that he was happiest while running free (sometimes with a chain or rope dragging behind him). He tore chains out of the wall of the house, he figured out ways to get out of windows, and he basically ended up costing several hundred dollars in pound fees as time after time he got lose. He was so “institutionalized” that he actually enjoyed seeing his friends in the Animal Control truck and didn’t mind being in the pound. One time he actually sat outside the Humane Society all day and greeted the folks coming and going until a worker finally realized he didn’t actually belong to anybody. I decided Tucker needed a job and put him in harness. Unfortunately for my boyfriend, Tucker then became my dog. Tucker is a new dog now, he is settled, he is insanely happy running in harness, and I have hopes that he will be a part of a 3 or 4 dog sprint team in the winter. Tucker is proof that you don’t need a pedigree, you don’t even need to be a husky, in order to be a sled dog!

News Flash! Tucker made my main race team this 06/07 season, pushing poor Loup off the mid team and onto the smaller sprint team. Tuckers' drive and endurance is ablsolutely amazing considering he had no training prior to two years ago. Go Tucker!
